Our project

We are Nathalie and Daniel, a Frisian and a Catalan who met one summer on a Greek island. Since then, we have built a life together in Catalonia, where we live with our four children.

In 2019, we discovered this very special place, and it was love at first sight. We restored these early 19th-century buildings with respect for their history, combining nature-inspired design with sustainable solutions that allow us to care for the environment without compromising on comfort.

El Maset del Me embodies simplicity, authenticity, tranquillity, and a deep connection with nature. We hope you will feel just as at home here as we do.

Lo Maset del Me is a group of buildings dating back to the early 19th century, consisting of a maset (a traditional small Catalan farmhouse), a livestock barn, and a hay barn. The three buildings are set in a privileged location, sheltered from the elements by a hill, surrounded by terraced olive groves, almond trees, and fruit trees, with idyllic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Ebro Delta. The maset, the livestock barn, and the hay barn were in a state of ruin and required a great deal of work and care, but it was love at first sight, and in 2019 we decided to begin this project to give the maset a new lease of life while respecting its history, its surroundings, and minimising its environmental impact.
